The site of Benbellen Farmstay reminds some people of the ideallic rural property featured on the movie "Babe". While there’s no talking pigs around, you will find eager Border Collie dogs and attentive B&B hosts, Peter and Sherry, who will make you feel comfortably at home. The luxury homestead accommodation is surrounded by cool wide verandahs with spectacular views of lush green paddocks, a lily-filled lagoon and the rugged peaks of nearby South Brother Mountain and Coorabakh National Park. Awake to the sounds of roosters crowing, chirpy birdsong and cows mooing. In the "cook's kitchen" you might like to be taught new ways of poaching the perfect egg while the morning coffee brews. Of an evening Peter and Sherry serve delicious, mouth watering home-cooked evening meals (by arrangement) with an emphasis on good nutrition. Three separate bedrooms are available for bed and breakfast guests, each fitted out with their own special décor. Sleep peacefully in antique-style beds, specially made in local timbers by a master craftsman. Each guest bedroom has its own modern full en-suite bathroom with eco-friendly composting toilet (no water system), fitting in with the eco-living theme at Benbellen. All around the homestead you will see interesting items from Europe and the Orient, including some of the treasures Peter and Sherry have accumulated from their travels over the years. If you are a book buff, Benbellen’s extensive library will keep you browsing and reading for hours. Feeding the resident alpacas, horse riding, bushwalking or making a visit to a local dairy farm at milking time are some of the many activities right on the doorstep.
