If your idea of the perfect holiday or weekend is renting a farm cottage, taking the kids or family pets and just relaxing and doing your own thing, then PeeGees Famstay fits the bill. PeeGees Farmstay is a self-catering red mahogany and red cedar Federation cottage, built in 1890. It takes its name from its builder, the legendary saw miller Percy Gordon Steinmetz, affectionately known around the area as PG. PG built many of the old timber homes in the historic nearby village of Waitui. The present owners, Les and Ross Cross are great nephews of PG and carry on family farming traditions on the 800 acre Waterford Como diary. If you want your children or grandchildren to see how cows are milked, just ask Shane at the diary who will be happy to arrange it. You can even help feed the poddy calves. PeeGees Farmstay cottage is perfectly fitted out for modern holiday living, with new kitchen and bathroom as well as CD player, TV and video. The main bedroom has a queen bed with French doors opening to a wide verandah and there’s also a twin bedroom and a separate private sunroom. There are lots of lovely walks on the farm, along Stewarts River, through the meadows or into the property’s forests. The adventurous can tackle some of the peaks nearby in Coorbakh National Park by walking or four wheel driving into the area. In the winter, cuddle up in front of the open fireplace with a roaring fire going, complete with a glass of red wine and your favourite book nearby. This is relaxation at its best! Peegees Farmstay offers self catering cottage accommodation between Taree and Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales Australia. |
