This intriguing farm is one of East Coast Australia's leading tourism highlights. Host and owner Blair Montague-Drake is a direct descendant of British aristocracy and a walking encyclopaedia on herbs and herbal remedies. Both Blair and wife Rhonda will entertain and temp you with treats they have created throughout your visit. Follow the humorous signs directing you to Norfolk Punch from either the Stewarts River direction (Jeruselum Road) or from the poets village of Kendall. On arrival, you'll notice the factory and buildings are all built of mud brick and recycled materials. You'll probably also get an enthusiastic welcome from the friendly resident cattle dog. When you enter the main building take a deep breath and inhale the relaxing aroma! The exquisite pot-pourri is made fresh each week. Of course, you must taste the punch! This 700-year-old drink contains over 30 herbs, berries and spices and is health giving and delicious. Numerous other "delectables" can be sampled in the tasting area. If you're peckish, relax in the Bower Bird Café and try a pot of organic coffee with some home-style country fare. Norfolk Punch sits amidst 40 acres of rainforest and herbs, designated as a wildlife refuge by the National Parks & Wildlife Service. Feel free to wander in the Biblical herb garden, the textile herb garden and the indigenous herb garden. There's even a roots and rhizomes herb garden. Norfolk Punch is open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm 1st and 3rd weekend of each month (other weekends by appointment) and seven days during school holidays. Coaches and large tour groups are welcome by appointment.
