Classical music lovers and gardening enthusiasts will have all their senses indulged when they spend time with Phillip Vorbach and Christine Davis, at their Hannam Vale property Wombat Hollow. Image relaxing in the sunshine to the sound of Phillip playing Bach, Girshwin, or Abba on his antique theatre organ. An accomplished organist with 15 years experience, Phillip was assistant organist at The Rocks Garrison Church before he quit the ‘rat race’ and escaped to his own piece of Hannam Vale heaven. Phillip can play a wide repertoire of music on his Rodgers 3-11 and has recently professionally recorded his own CD, on sale at Wombat Hollow. If animals and the natural environment are your passion, Wombat Hollow is a smorgasbord. The 7 acre property has friendly alpacas you can feed and pat and two short picturesque walks. The Stewarts River Walk at the intersection of Starrs Creek is a favourite playground of wild playpus and a stunning Rainforest Walk, the opposite direction from the house, is filled with unique plants and birds. If you look very closely you might even discover a wombat. Around the homestead, you can wander around a large, well-tended garden filled with scented plants like camellias, jacarandas and roses. Mingled in between is a large array of fruit trees, often in flower or fruit. Christine can prepare morning or afternoon teas, or light lunches on request and takes families, couples or groups of up to 40 people. Be sure to book first so they know you’re coming. |
